• May 9, 2026 - Aquatic Animal Alliance, Animal Rights Center Japan sent a letter to Japan Science and Technology Agency advising to halt investments in octopus farming

• August 20, 2025 - Fundación Derecho y Defensa Animal, Aquatic Life Institute and over 160 Aquatic Animal Alliance members sent a letter to the Chile government urging them to stop financing octopus farming research
