Kristin Bayans - Aquatic Animal Alliance Community Specialist

Kristin is the Aquatic Animal Alliance Community Specialist at Aquatic Life Institute, where she partners with the Director of the Aquatic Animal Alliance to bring together strategy, relationships, and resources for a coalition of more than 180 organizations in over 70 countries focused on reducing the suffering of aquatic animals. Known for spotting where collaborations can grow and connecting people who might not otherwise meet, she helps keep this global coalition aligned and moving toward shared goals.

A science communicator and coalition builder, Kristin has shaped a career spanning museums, conservation nonprofits, and science and public engagement networks, bringing experience in education, outreach, and leadership. She works to make science and conservation accessible to people of all abilities, in ways they can connect to and care about.

Kristin is based in Oregon, United States, and spends as much time as possible at the edge of the ocean with her St. Bernard, Isla, scanning the horizon for whales.
