Julia Seibel, Head of Corporate Engagement

Julia Seibel is the Head of Corporate Engagement at Aquatic Life Institute, where she leads the organization’s work with retailers, producers, foodservice companies, and other seafood industry stakeholders to advance aquatic animal welfare practices across global supply chains.

Since 2018, Julia has worked across the nonprofit and advocacy sectors, with a background spanning corporate engagement, strategic communications, food systems transformation, and climate advocacy. Prior to joining ALI, Julia led corporate campaigns at Mercy For Animals Brazil, securing cage-free commitments from major food companies and later leading the organization’s plant-based solutions program in the country. She also participated in the Open Wing Alliance mentorship program, supporting advocates and organizations in strengthening their corporate engagement work.

Julia previously worked as Climate Justice Project Coordinator at Global Witness, where she contributed to initiatives focused on environmental and human rights defenders, expanding her expertise at the intersection of sustainability, climate, and corporate accountability.

Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Julia spent several years working in corporate communications and marketing across different industries. Based in Brazil, she is passionate about advancing more responsible and sustainable food systems and increasing protections for aquatic animals, one of the most overlooked groups within global animal welfare efforts.
