Dear friends and supporters,

As we enter this season of giving, I am honoured to share that Aquatic Life Institute has been named a 2024 Animal Charity Evaluators recommended charity; a recognition of our proven impact. Your support will allow us to continue creating vital welfare improvements for potentially hundreds of billions of aquatic animals, farmed and caught for human consumption each year. This year, we’re also celebrating our fifth anniversary, which has brought significant advances. Several key highlights from 2024 are illustrated below - they give us hope for a world where aquatic animals in the global seafood system experience lives of minimal suffering. Aquatic animals are often overlooked in animal welfare efforts, despite being the largest group affected by human consumption. These sentient creatures feel pain and can suffer, even though the differences between us can make empathy difficult. ALI exists to change that.

We’re officially launching our Giving Season campaign on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, and we need your help to make a lasting impact. Thanks to the generosity of Mobius, all donations from now until the end of the year will be doubled (up to $15K)! Your support doesn’t just impact the animals - it plays a role in the future sustainability of our planet and food system. Every gift, large or small, brings us closer to our vision of a kinder, more sustainable future.

Thank you for being part of building that future with us.

Sophika Kostyniuk
Managing Director

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve surpassed our $15K match goal - but with your help, we can reach our ultimate target of $25K!

ACE proudly recommends Aquatic Life Institute (ALI) as an excellent giving opportunity...ALI uses robust logic to develop their programs and has a strong track record of success. Our cost-effectiveness assessment indicates that they have been able to help many animals at a relatively low cost...ALI’s plans for 2025 and 2026 give us confidence that they would use donations in ways that are likely to create the most positive change for aquatic animals.
